About Rotary in Greater Salem New Hampshire
The Greater Salem Rotary Club # 57549, in District # 7930 was organized in March of 2001. Its sponsoring club was the Salem/Methuen Rotary Club. Today the club is 35 members strong and is comprised of local business leaders that are committed to making a positive impact in the communities in which they work and live. Communities served by the Greater Salem NH Rotary Club include: Salem, Pelham, Windham, Atkinson and Hampstead.
Over the past three years our club has put thousands of dollars into our towns in the way of support and donations. The Greater Salem Rotary Club is proactive in addressing the needs of our communities. A sampling of community projects that the club has participated in include:
- Holiday Food Baskets to local residents (approximately 60 families per year)
- Donations to Salem schools for playground improvement
- Life saving Automated External Defibrillators (AED) to local schools
- Higher Education Scholarships awarded to local high school students
- Dictionaries distributed to third grade students in the communities we serve
- Sponsorship of Salem Fishing Derby
- Donations to local residents in time of crisis
- Donations to Tsunami relief projects
- Donations to Katrina hurricane vicitms
- International Polio Plus program
- International Safe Drinking Water programs
The Greater Salem Rotary Club is able to provide these donations through membership fees, donations, and our annual signature fund raising event, More information will be posted on this site once it is available. Our Club also enjoys several fellowship outings through out the year including an annual trip to the Boston Pops in June.
